To make it easier for those playing along later here is the blind scrap steps in the one post.

Materials list.

Photos
--1 5x7 (1 used black and white)
--2 6x4 (1 used colour)
These you need to be able to crop into long skinny photos so try and find some that have unwanted background.

Papers
--Black paper or cardstock 12x12 plus extra for mounting photos.
--1 white with a black print patterned paper 12 x12. (I used spots)
--Coordinating black and white scraps with a flower and leaf pattern if possible.

Paint
--Choose a colour that is in your photos.
--Card stock scrap to use a a paint spreader.

Embellies
--Small word printed die cut (Black and white)
--Die cut journal box (Black and white)
--Pearls (Black and to match paint)
--2 buttons (To match paint)
--7 inch long lace/trim (White)
--Circle Doily or lace/trim (Black)
--Several small doilies or lace/trim scraps (Black and to match paint)
--Alphas (To match paint)
--String

Extras
--Card stock scraps to match paint.
--Card board to be used under one of the photos. We will be using this in place of mounting tape.
--Butterfly punch.
--Heat gun or the like to help dry your paint.

STEP 1
Trim pattern paper to 11 1/2 inches square and mount onto the black paper or card stock 12x12. You will need to make sure that you add your tape an inch in from the edge of your paper. For those that may want to ink/distress your edges do so before layering the two pieces together.

STEP 2
Using the length of scrap card stock from the paint list in the Materials list -tear and fold into quarters. You will be using this as your paint spreader. Holding the spreader by the folded edge and keeping the edges together, dip it into your paint and smear it down the page starting in the top left hand corner and randomly covering an area roughly 7x8 inches and a smaller area towards the bottom on the right hand side.

STEP 3
Still holding your spreader but this time keeping the edges apart and holding it vertically stamp around the smears so that you get paint lines going across your page.

STEP 4
Trim the 6x4 photos to 5x21/4 inches and the 5x7 to 6 1/2x2 1/4 so that you have long skinny photos. Mat the two smaller photos onto the extra black paper or card stock with a slight border.

Step 5
Mount the larger photo onto a piece of card board slightly smaller then the photo. This is used like mourning tape between the photo and the photo mat. With bigger items that I want to lift up I use card board rather than heaps of the mounting tape. This needs to be matted onto the extra black paper or card stock with a boarder matching the other two photos.

Step 6
Starting in the top left corner add your photos, small, big, small so that the big photo sits slightly higher up the page than the smaller ones.

STEP 7
Make two small tears to your pattern paper and fold the little edges back. One on the left under the photo and the other on the right about a 1/4 of the way up from the bottom tucking in a scrap of the card stock matching the paint between the pattern and black papers.

STEP 8
Add the white trim to the layout horizontally on the right side of your middle photo with a little bit overlapping the bottom of the photo and then across towards the right. It should lay below the third photo closest to the right side and out into the negative space a few inches.

STEP 9
Using your journal box die cut, stick either the black doily underneath or gather your black trim so that it can be seen poking out from behind the left top corner of the journal box, then stick this over your white lace overlapping the bottom corner of your far right photo.

STEP 10
Add the printed word onto the right side of the journal box, add some cut out flowers and leaves under this flowing down off the journal box.

STEP 11
Add in the smaller doilies or lace scraps. One on the left of the journal box and 3 near the right hand side tear adding a cut out flower on top of the ones near the tear.

STEP 12
Attach a length of string across the layout between the tears adding in a loop which sits just under the middle photo and a string tied button at either end.

STEP 13
Add title across the bottom of the layout, butterflies punched from the card stock and pearls to flower centers and butterfly bodies.

Have fun girls and I can't wait to see your layouts in the gallery on Friday night.
